Beloved Performer Pat Finn, Recognized For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
US performer Pat Finn, who featured in beloved programs including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per media reports.
"He considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones said in a statement.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
An Extensive Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous hit series, like:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- "House"
He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series over nearly a decade.
His work in movies include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
A Life in Improv
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat guided, supported, and advised many learners during his career and it's nearly impossible to find a person anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote publicly.
The actor is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his children, and his family.
