David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

David Walliams

Best-selling children's author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

An official for the publisher commented: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was reached following an investigation into claims about conduct deemed unsuitable towards female individuals.

The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

A Highly Successful Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, boasting over more than 60 million copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works combined, including a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
