Former Physician Faces Sexual Assault Charges Against 38 Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors report that a ex- physician now faces charges for performing assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
Details of the Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – comprising acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
One senior CPS official stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations come after what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

The charging documents outline the 45 sexual offences include:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
