Mohamed Salah Offers Statement to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones

The Liverpool midfielder has shared that Mohamed Salah said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad after the uproar from his recent interview.

What Happened

The striker was dropped from a vital match after voicing frustrations and stating his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.

“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, please accept my apology.’”

The head coach has previously declined to reveal on whether he was apologised to from the player.

Looking Ahead

Jones insisted that the team's response remained positive. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and it was business as usual,” Jones added.

Jones also noted that a player's desire to start is preferable. “I understand there are certain ways you can express yourself,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just be on the bench, then I think that’s concerning.”

On-Field Response

The team's performance have been impressive in the matches since the situation. Jones believes the outburst were never meant to harm the team.

“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, performing and on a positive run.”
